The fact that I forgot to mention I visited Aquarium and Underwater zoo the same day I saw the fountains says everything about how underwhelming it was. Initially I thought I should postpone it for next day, thinking that it is too late already and I will have not enough time to explore it properly but after checking the weather and finding that it will be 30 deg. C outside I decided to hide in the chilly undergrounds and underwater ways of this famous attraction.

Well, in my eyes it didn’t live up to that fame. The builders of that place should have went to Osaka to see how to made a great aquarium. First of all the aquarium itself is not much more than a huge fishtank with tunnel for visitors. While passing it, bright neons of adjacent shops shine through the acrylic walls and water of the tank, breaking the immersion and making photography and filming much less enjoyable.

The underwater zoo has more variety of wildlife divided into thematic tanks and terrariums but, to the pain of the adult 2 m tall guy like me, almost all of them are placed at the ground level reaching no more tan 1,2 m of height.

Clearly it is the place for children and after some time spent crouching and kneeling I gave up and ceased taking any more pictures. There is also the penguins cove available for additional fee, which I didn’t pay, but the blow of cold wind coming from there made me not regret it.

There were few terrariums with land wildlife too.
